About Me
Welcome to Strings & Hue!
My name is Summer. I am a harpist of 16 years and a visual artist creating refined, expressive work across music and painting, originally from Canada, now based in Northern Colorado.
I began playing the harp at the age of four. Through lessons and many amazing experiences, I have only grown in my love of this beautiful instrument. I have two harps, Isadora, my pedal harp, and Dianna, my lever harp. I have played in various orchestras, including the Colorado All-State Orchestra in 2024.
I love sharing my music with people, creating music and arrangements from some of my favorite artists, and tailoring my music to your special event, whether it be a wedding, Christmas party, or background music.
I have been practicing and studying art since I could hold a pencil. Growing up, my mom taught me the basics of watercolour, pastel, and graphite. I fell in love with it and taught myself new techniques and history about art.
When I was in high school, I finally took formal art lessons, learning the techniques of the Old Masters, specifically those of Leonardo Da Vinci, passed down through artists until it was taught to me.
After graduating, I expanded my portfolio, selling art, and began to teach it online. In college, I have fallen in love with learning about how far art has come through art history, creating lesson plans for students, and most of all learning new mediums.
In my free time I enjoy hiking, going to the gym, cooking, and hanging out with my amazing friends.
I'm so glad you're here and I can't wait to work with you!
“It’s not only about the music or the art that I present. For me, it’s the chance to connect with someone in ways that words can’t. ”
